TIA is thrilled to announce that the TIA 2020 Capital Ideas Conference & Exhibition will be held this year. Join us on our new dates, August 19-22 at the JW Marriott Austin.

This was not a decision that was made lightly, but protecting the health and safety of our members, attendees, exhibitors, sponsors, and the greater Austin community is of paramount importance to us.

We are also aware many of you will have questions regarding the status of meeting registrations, hotel reservations, sponsorship fees, etc. In an effort to try and answer as many of these questions as possible, we have put together a wide-ranging FAQ page below.

Has the TIA 2020 Capital Ideas Conference & Exhibition Been Cancelled?
  • NO! The Capital Ideas Conference & Exhibition has only been temporarily postponed, and will now take place August 19-22 in Austin, Texas.
Has the Location of the Conference Been Changed?
  • NO! The Capital Ideas Conference & Exhibition Will Still Be Held at the JW Marriott Austin.
Has My Hotel Reservation Been Canceled?
  • YES! For those who made their reservation at the JW Marriott Austin, Marriott automatically canceled those reservations following the city’s order to limit events over 250 people. We will be providing a new online reservation link as soon as it is available, so you may rebook your reservation for the new conference dates of August 19-22.
Will You Cancel My Reservation at Another Hotel?
  • NO! We do not have agreements with other area hotels. It is your responsibility to cancel your reservation at any hotel other than the JW Marriott Austin.
Should I Expect to Experience the Same Amount of Value at the August Conference?
  • ABSOLUTELY! TIA will offer the same education sessions, the same learning lab sessions, the same general sessions, and the same pre-conference seminars. Same value. Different month.
Will the Same Exhibitors & Sponsors Be at the Conference Held in August?
  • YES! We have commitments from our key exhibitors and sponsors that they will be there in August. We anticipate that the rest of the exhibitors and sponsors will be there as well to attend the 3PL industry’s flagship event.
Can I Cancel My Reservation & Receive a Refund?
  • YES! For those who have a conflict but wish to attend TIA 3PL Technovations in November at the JW Marriott Hill Country in San Antonio, we will gladly transfer your registration. In lieu, full refunds are also being processed at this time. To request a refund, please submit a claim to meetings@tianet.org.
Why Is the Exhibit Hall Open on Friday, August 21 & Saturday, August 22?
  • TIA was very fortunate that the hotel was able to work with us to confirm available space in August. In order to make this work, however, TIA is adapting the conference schedule and opening the Exhibit Hall on Friday night – offering the same hours as in the past (5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Friday, 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM on Saturday and again on Saturday evening from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM). We will also have a big closing party on the trade show floor to celebrate on Saturday night.
Can Exhibitors Receive a Full Refund for Their Exhibit Booth Fees?
  • YES! Exhibitor booths and fees will be transferred over to the August 2020 conference unless a refund is requested. To submit a request for a refund please email meetings@tianet.org.
Can Sponsors Receive a Full Refund for Their Sponsorship Payments?
  • YES! Sponsorship fees will be transferred over to the August 2020 conference unless a refund is requested. To submit a request for a refund please email meetings@tianet.org.
Can Exhibit Booth Payments Be Applied to the 2021 Conference?
  • NO! Unfortunately, this option is not available.
Can Sponsorship Payments & Fees Be Applied to the 2021 Conference?
  • NO! Unfortunately, this option is not available.
Will There Still Be Golf?
  • YES! The annual golf outing will be held on Thursday morning.
Will Pre-Conference Seminars Be Offered?
  • YES! But they will begin with lunch on Wednesday, August 19 at 11:00 AM and the sessions will run from 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM.
Will the Schedule Be the Same?
  • YES (Mostly)! As noted, the Exhibition Hall hours will shift from Thursday – Friday to Friday – Saturday. Please plan on staying over Saturday night to show your support for the industry and the exhibitors.
What if COVID-19 Is Still an Issue in August?
  • Just like for the April Conference, TIA will work closely with the CDC, State of Texas, and City of Austin. But, if the U.S. is still on travel restrictions in August, we will have much bigger problems as a nation.
