Alexandria, VA – On Thursday, May 6th, the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) released the latest version of their landmark framework, the TIA Carrier Selection Framework. The TIA Carrier Selection Framework assists TIA members with industry guidance and things to consider when selecting motor carriers to haul your customers freight.

In the 2021 update, the TIA CSA-Carrier Selection Framework Subcommittee led by Chairman Jeff Tucker, CTB, CEO of Tucker Company Worldwide and former Chairman of the TIA Board of Directors focused on the latest updated changes to motor carriers’ drivers’ hours-of-service (HOS), which were changed through a Final Rule released by President Trump on June 1, 2020. The Final Rule provided greater flexibility for drivers of commercial motor vehicles without adversely affecting safety.

“On behalf of our members, and the many companies who care deeply about the carriers they select, we’re pleased to offer TIA’s 2021 Carrier Selection Framework—the 16th edition of this document. We anxiously await FMCSA delivering on its long-anticipated safety fitness determination system for rating carriers. TIA is working very closely with the Biden Administration and Congress to move this rulemaking forward, as it will clear up a lot of confusion surrounding carrier selection with 89% of motor carriers having an unrated safety rating,” stated Jeff Tucker, CTB, CEO of Tucker Company Worldwide and Chairman of the CSA Carrier Selection Framework Subcommittee.

“TIA is honored to continue releasing this landmark framework that can assist members navigate the complexities of carrier selection. I appreciate all the hard work of the Subcommittee and Chairman Tucker on continuing to refine this framework and provide our membership with the latest information and findings”, stated TIA Vice President of Government Affairs Chris Burroughs.
